Streamscape
Headerwaters River Journey (Winter Park, Colorado)
This piece was designed by ECOS to have the appearance of looking out a window at a river. Five curved monitors sit side-by-side in a custom fabricated adjustable armature hidden from view. Motion sensors trigger wetland wildlife content for visitors as they stroll along the path. A central sign among the monitors prompts visitors to guess local riparian bird species by using binoculars to view another small monitor across the room.
The grand finale at the end is a surprising grunting bull moose triggered behind visitors for a surprising close encounter on a 6’ monitor hidden behind a scrim of printed willow branches. A beaver lodge to the side of the main streamscape contains natural history footage and sounds that captivate younger viewerss.
ECOS completed this digital experience with Trivium Interactive, Winikur Productions and BBI engineering.
