Conservation Video and Live Feed, Riverbanks Zoo & Garden
Riverbanks Takes Care of Wildlife—Here at the Zoo and Far Beyond
One critical message for the Sea Lion Landing exhibits was the diversity of efforts by Riverbanks Zoo to protect and care for wildlife—both captive populations and in the wild. To convey this, ECOS created a 7-minute video that showcases some of the zoo’s more important conservation programs and projects.
ECOS completed all phases of production, conducting and filming interviews of key staff. We worked with a local media hardware company to spec a directional overhead speaker to isolate the experience of this auto-looping program. An accompanying graphic encourages visitors to take action for conservation via a donation box below. (Note: The client was clear about limiting this to coins and bills, rather than taking credit/debit card donations. ECOS recognizes that there are pro’s and con’s to both options.)
The indoor area of this exhibit also includes a live feed of the sea lions at Pier 39 in San Francisco, a looping video program of that sea lion population, and messages about coexistence.
