Project: Gates
Center for Wildlife, Conservation and Education, Denver Zoo
Description: The
20,000+ square-foot “Gates Center” welcomes school
groups, lectures, the public, and several zoo department offices.
That’s a lot of customers to make happy. ECOS approached
the project by keeping the graphics playful but not childlike.
Mature but not stiff.
Inside the grand vertical foyer, beautifully painted schools
of sculptural fish and flocks of origami-like birds sweep overhead,
adding drama and supporting the “diversity of life” photo
wall. Watch where you step… custom photo floor tiles
show who might be hiding on the forest floor.
